I want to use this medium to congratulate the Nigerian team that took part in the just concluded Commonwealth games in Birmingham. They did Nigeria proud indeed and they deserve commendation. The best part of it is that this took place at a time when we are battling so many issues internally. So while we were lamenting internally, the team was giving the world a different view of Nigeria.

I congratulate each and every one of them and I urge the government to honour them. These are the type of persons that should be considered for national honour. By so doing, many young persons will be motivated to channel their energies into positive endeavours. 

The team showed that hard work pays and young people should learn from that; that when you put in your best, you will get results. Once again, congratulations to the team. You made us proud. Keep up the good work.
