A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has dismissed a case challenging the Kwankwasiyya group over the conduct of Local Government Congresses of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State.

The suit was filed by a faction of the party loyal to former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aminu Wali.

Delivering judgement, Justice Lewis Allagoa agreed with the submission of the party that the action was statute-barred having been filed 85 days after the course of action arose and therefore struck out the suit.

The judge also dismissed the motion on joinder filed by two other members of the party for lack of merit.

Daily Trust gathered that the faction earlier approached the court in June seeking nullification of the ward congresses held on March 17, 2020 for exclusion from contesting in the election.
