Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday staged a peaceful protest in Gombe over what they described as “injustice” they were subjected to during the ward congress held on Saturday.
The aggrieved members from Shongom Local Government Area of the state converged at the main gate of the government house, seeking reversal of lists earlier submitted as ward executives from the LG.
Speaking with newsmen on behalf of the protesters, Ibrahim Kachalla from Kushi Ward said they converged at the government house for the protest because they were dissatisfied with the outcome of the exercise.
Another member from Gundali Ward, Ibrahim Ishaq, alleged that the list submitted to the APC congress committee was not that agreed upon by members during the congress held at the weekend.
However, state Public Relations Officer of the APC Ibrahim Sabo said the protesters should have taken their complaints to the committee that held the congress.
