Construction union tasks Buhari on infrastructure

The National Union of Civil Engineering Construction, Furniture and Wood Workers(NUCECFWW) has  implored the Federal Government to create jobs through infrastructural development  and growth of the country.
Its President, Comrade Amechi Asugwuni, who gave the advice in Lagos, said the development was necessary in order to put the nation’s economy in good stead.
He also implored the government to consider re-activation of all ongoing projects to stimulate employment as well ensure extensive rail/road networks construction in the country.
Asugwuni,who implored President Muhammadu Buhari,to constitute monitoring committee to check anti-labour practices by employers and poor execution of contracts,also expressed his union’s support for Buhari’s anti corruption war.
He enjoined President Buhari to ensure that the ongoing anti-graft crusade is rapid and holistic.
He said: “We commend the ongoing effort of the Federal Government on the fight to end insurgency and call on government to sustain the tempo, while equally urging government to sustain collaboration with the international community for the sustenance and cohesion in intelligence gathering to avoid spread to other part of Nigeria.”
