Content Creation: Youths tasked on creativity, perseverance

An upcoming content creator, JI from Cool FM, has received the sum of ₦500,000 to enable her purchase a new smartphone for her content creation journey.

The cash gift, courtesy of Skyewise Foundation, was announced by the founder of the non-governmental organisation, Dr. Elvis Abuyere during the second edition of its content creation master class held in Abuja recently.

The empowerment gathering, which had as the theme, “Content: Creating a Pathway to Self-Actualization” was attended by youths in the content and entertainment space.

In his address, Dr. Abuyere while noting that content at the age of digital expression is not just entertainment but a currency, added that the money-spinning sub-sector worth millions of dollars has potentials to transform visions into actions and lead people from obscurity to prosperity.

Today, Skyewise Group has grown into one of Africa’s fastest-growing conglomerates, with interests spanning investment management, credit services, automobile solutions, logistics, and youth empowerment.

He also recalled how content has contributed to the growth of his company, Skyewise Group which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, stating that the organization’s success story can not be complete without content.

“But here’s the truth: Content played a massive role in that growth. It wasn’t just business proposals and financial spreadsheets. It was narratives—authentic stories, compelling pitches, digital engagement, and bold declarations of what we stood for,” he stated.

While encouraging participants at the content workshop not to give up, Dr. Abuiyere advised them to be innovative, creative and patient as their stories will be told through the quality of their contents in the near future.

“You may not have money right now. You may not even have a formal platform. But if you have a message, and you can package that message with honesty, creativity, and value—you already have power. Self-actualization is not a destination—it is a daily commitment to becoming your highest self.”

The resource persons were at their very best, taking the participants through camera handling, how to take compelling pictures, video editing, script writing and more.

Notable content creators and guests in attendance include Fari Mirzebalaeva who is also the Convener of the event, other guests are Kendo Grant, Nasiru Lawal, Dr. Emmanuel Osoteku, Ayotunde Brothers Jeiel Damina, Oladapo Adewunmi, Williams Etombi and Edith Imonikhe
