Director General (DG) of the Federation of Artisans, Associations and Traders for Asiwaju and Shettima, Dr. Muideen Olaniyi Azeez Salako, has urged the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to deepen collaboration among stakeholders as it consolidates its structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Salako, also a governorship aspirant of the APC in Kwara State, made the call in Ilọrin while reacting to the successful conduct of the party’s National Convention.

According to him, the exercise was not only successful in organisational terms but also a clear reflection of democratic maturity and internal cohesion within the ruling party.

He noted that the conduct of the convention further reinforced confidence in the APC’s leadership architecture and internal processes.

“The successful conduct of the convention underscores our party’s commitment to democratic principles and further strengthens confidence in its leadership structure,” he said.

While congratulating the newly elected National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, alongside other members of the National Executive Committee, Salako expressed optimism that their emergence would usher in a renewed phase of purposeful leadership and institutional stability within the party.

The confidence reposed in the new leadership by party stakeholders, he noted, was indicative of their readiness and capacity to guide the APC at a “defining political moment”.

He urged the leadership “to sustain inclusiveness, fairness, and unity”, stressing that the consolidation of internal cohesion remains critical to strengthening the party’s electoral competitiveness ahead of 2027.

He emphasised that sustained unity within the APC would be essential not only for electoral success but also for promoting development and good governance across the country, particularly in Kwara State.
