A yet-to-be identified policeman was yesterday found dead at 5am around SCOA motors in Unguwan Shanu area of Kaduna State, Daily Trust reports. 

Our correspondent reports that the policeman had three gunshot wounds on his chest, stomach and shoulder.

The late policeman was said to be residing around New Barracks.

A member of the community, who pleaded anonymity, said: “We found the body when we came out for morning prayers and quickly alerted the police. Many people suspected that he might have run into armed robbers returning from an operation, who shot him and took away his gun.”

When contacted, the police spokesman, ASP Mukhtar Aliyu, confirmed the incident.
