The 26th Engineering Assembly organised by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) begins in Abuja today.
COREN President, Engr Kashim Ali said at a press briefing, Friday, said the annual Engineering Assembly was meant to update the knowledge of members of the engineering family and share ideas on emerging issues in the practice of the engineering profession.
Ali said the theme of this year’s Assembly which will commence with an opening ceremony on Monday 7th and end on Wednesday 9th August, 2017 is “Entrepreneurship and Manufacturing in Nigeria: Challenges and Opportunities for a Better Future.”
“The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour at the opening ceremony, while the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura will be the Chairman of the Day while the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola will be the Chief Host,” he said.
