COREN registers 844 engineers,10 expatriates

The Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)  has said it recently registered 844 engineers.

President of COREN Kashim Ali disclosed this Thursday at a press briefing in Abuja on the outcome of its  first quarter council meeting for 2017.

Ali  said aside the engineers, 84 technologists, two engineering technicians, 12 craftsmen and 10 expatriates were also registered by the council within  the period under review.

He  said that the council has also considered and approved the report of the accreditation visitations to Bayero University Kano and that of Port Harcourt  carried out between January and February 2017, saying  “out of 11 programmes visited, nine programmes got full accreditation while two got pass pre-accreditation.”

He also said the council has approved the annual publication of the status of universities running accredited engineering programmes.
