It is worthy of commendation and emulation that a member of the House of Representatives from Akoko Northeast/Northwest federal constituency of Ondo state recently donated two hundred and fifty thousand naira cash o the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council to fight deadly coronavirus at this emergency period.

Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo popularly known as BTO, also donated a trailer-load of bags of rice, beans and garri to his constituents, and said the donation is part of palliative measures being put in place to cushion the harsh effect the present lockdown over the spread of COVID-19 would have on the people of his constituency, saying the 1000 bags of food will be distributed to residents in the two local government areas in his constituency.

The donation of the cash from Hon. Tunji-Ojo and health materials from the NMA at the Press Centre, Alagbaka Akure was witnessed by the State NUJ executives and few members. While receiving the donations, the State Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Adetona Aderoboye expressed deep gratitude to both Hon Tunji-Ojo and NMA for the kind gesture that would go a long way in assisting the union to provide necessary health kits for members and media organisations in the state.
