Corp members serving under National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have donated foodstuffs worth thousands of naira to Mariri Internally Displaced Persons’ children school in Kano state.

The items donated to the school include a bag of rice, bags of semovita, cartons of indomie noodle, gallon of vegetable oil and clothes.

Similarly, the corps members also attended to the students in their respective classrooms and asked them some questions to test their level of understanding of the subjects they are being taught in the school.

They encouraged the students to pay more attention to their studies and be of good character, saying this would help them build a brighter future.

Speaking while presenting the donation to the management of the school, Hassan Dayyabu, leader of the donors’ Community Development Service also known as CD group said the gesture was meant to complement government efforts towards the up keeping of the children of IDPs in the school.

He said the corps members were encouraged to extend the hands of fellow to the IDPs’ children by the NEMA management.

The IDPs’ children school was established by the immediate past governor of Kano state, Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso to help children of the IDPs who lost their parents in Boko Haram attacks.
