Corps members offer free medical services to 400 persons

Some members of the 2015 Batch B National Youth Service Corps serving in Karu Local Government area of Nasarawa State recently offered free medical services to residents of Auta Balefi community as part of their community development service.
The gesture, carried out by the Medical and Health Community Development group as part of their outreach programme, was aimed at improving the quality of lives of the people of the community.
The corps members offered free malaria, HIV and blood group tests for members of the community, created awareness about sickle cell anemia by offering free genotype testing, and offered medical treatment and drugs to beneficiaries of the outreach.
President of the CDS group, Ononudo Godspower, said the gesture became necessary as a result of their interaction with the community.
