A male corpse has been dumped inside the premises of Government Technical College (GTC), Ilorin, Kwara State.
Our correspondent reports that the victim’s head was smashed with his two wrists severed in a suspected ritual case.
A security guard in the school said that a few days ago in the night he spotted a tricycle parked and that before he got there someone dropped a corpse and sped off.
He further said, “Upon a closer inspection, we found a corpse on the ground with a damaged head and wrists missing. The school was alerted, leading to the involvement of the police that evacuated the remains.”
When City & Crime visited the school, the principal was not available, and attempts to reach him on telephone were unsuccessful.
However, the spokeswoman of the Kwara State Police Command, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the incident, saying, “The victim suffered head injuries from a stone before having both wrists chopped off. But we are yet to receive the report of a missing person matching the victim’s description.
“However, investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the gruesome incident and to ascertain the identity of the deceased.”
