In our story published on March 11 with the headline “Alleged budget padding: Ningi faces suspension”, we inadvertently and erroneously included the name of the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin in a rider to the headline on our cover page as one of the northern senators who dissociated themselves from the statement credited to Senator Abdul Ningi on the alleged budget padding.

We have since discovered that the deputy senate president was not one of the signatories to the statement issued by the seven senators from the northern region.

We regret the inconveniences this might have caused the deputy senate president.
