The Chairman of the Governing Council, Federal University, Wukari, in Taraba State, Alhaji Uba Ahmed Nana, has expressed displeasure over the snail’s pace and poor quality of work being carried out by contractors handling some projects in the institution.
The chairman, while inspecting project sites at the main campus of the university, said the Council was disappointed with the job quality, warning that all construction workers must adhere to standards.
He said: “Our priority is to ensure that standard is not compromised and we are poised at making the university a world class institution.”
In his comment, Prof. Abubakar Musa Kundiri, the vice-chancellor, said the one million-litre water supply project was poorly handled.
“It is a failed project because the surface tank has lost its designed shape due to the use of substandard materials in its constructions,” he said.
