The Jiwa Emirate Council will on Sunday, 7 December 2025, confer the traditional title Tauraruwan Matan Kasar Jiwa (“Shining Star Woman of Jiwa Land”) on Ambassador Lois Andrew Ihwo.

The ceremony, slated for 11:00 a.m., will take place at Government Senior Secondary School, Jiwa, in the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the council, the honour — to be bestowed by the Emir of Jiwa, Alhaji Dr. Idris Musa — recognises Ihwo’s contributions to entrepreneurship, philanthropy and community development within the FCT and beyond. The event is expected to attract traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders and other dignitaries.

Ihwo, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Deeutensils and Deescent Global, has built a notable footprint in Nigeria’s kitchenware and lifestyle sectors, with operations based in Abuja and a growing customer network across Africa.

Through the Dee Ihwo Foundation, she has also supported a range of social initiatives, including women’s empowerment, assistance for widows, education scholarships and health-related outreach programmes benefiting communities in Plateau State and the North-Central region.

Her work has earned her multiple recognitions in 2025, including an Honorary Doctorate from American Management University, California, and the “Most Inspiring Entrepreneur of the Year” award at the 15th Peace Achievers International Conference and Awards. She was also named “Abuja Female Entrepreneur of the Year” by Top 10 Magazine and recently received a Business Day Newspaper Award.

The Emirate Council said the upcoming conferment reflects its commitment to honouring individuals who demonstrate excellence in leadership and service, while contributing meaningfully to cultural preservation and community advancement.

Observers note that the ceremony highlights the evolving role of traditional institutions in acknowledging contemporary achievements that promote national development and social impact.
