The Registrar of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Professor Josiah Olusegun Ajiboye, has said that the council will evaluate school teachers in 12 states and fish out untrained ones.
The council would also assist parents to know whether teachers have provisional practicing certificates to define and determine teacher competence.
Ajiboye, who disclosed this at the weekend in Ibadan, stated that the school monitoring programme is to determine the total number of qualified and unqualified teachers teaching pupils in those states.
“Also, this year, Teacher Information Systems (TIS), will become functional. Parents in Nigeria will be able to know those who are teaching their children in school, whether quack or professional teachers. They will then be able to make decisions on where to take their wards to for education purposes.
