About 100 orphans have received a new set of school uniforms by the Speaker of Dutse Local Government Council, Jigawa State, Malam Gambo Muhammad Dayyanu.
Presenting the uniforms to the beneficiaries on Monday at the Council Secretariat, the speaker said the gesture was to support and encourage the orphans to access universal basic education.
Dayyanu, who is the councillor representing Limawa Ward in the local government area, said the children were carefully selected from primary and junior secondary schools in his constituency.
He said, “The aim of the donation is to put smiles on their faces and give them more courage to perform better in their classes. As you can see, the uniform is for both males and females who lost their parents”.
The speaker also donated 20 cartons of chalk to primary schools at the Limawa ward.
