Justice Sikiru Oyinloye of Kwara State High Court has adjourned the case of one Waidi Alabi who allegedly hacked his friend, Ibrahim Ajayi, to death.

He was initially charged for culpable homicide which contravenes Section 221 of the Penal Code Law.

Alabi’s plea was not yet taken while he was facing trial before Magistrate Ibrahim Dasuki at the magistrates’ court before the case was transferred to the high court where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Counsel to the defendant, Abodunrin Adewole, prayed the court for adjournment to allow him prepare adequately, adding that the case has just been assigned to him.

The complainant’s counsel, Anuolu Olaoye, did not object to the submission.

The charge sheet said the incident happened on December 13, 2019 at Kara in Oke-Oyi.

The police said they recovered a  hand set, cutlass, blade and cloth with blood stains from the defendant’s ceiling during investigation.
