Court admits 2 men to N.4m bail in rape case

A Jos High Court on Thursday, admitted two men, who allegedly raped a woman on her farm to bail in the sum of N230,000 each.

The police charged Katmang and Damulam Ashom with conspiracy and rape.

Ruling on the case,  Justice Christine Dabup, said: “In view of the commitment shown by suspects by coming to court, in spite of not being personally served with appearance notice and coupled with the distance they have to travel to come to court, I will grant them bail,” she said.

Dabup also ordered the defendants to produce one surety each in the like sum and adjourned the case until May 11 for hearing.

The prosecution counsel. Ms Olive Okpuru, alleged that Katmang and Ashom on Sept. 14, 2020 raped the victim on her farm at Rugwa village in Mangu LGA of the state.
