The Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara state on Tuesday affirmed the candidature of Senator Rafiu Ibrahim as the PDP senatorial candidate for Kwara South senatorial election.

It will be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the name of the Kwara state governor, Abdulfattah Ahmed, as the candidate for the senatorial district.

Earlier before the publication of the names, the governor had withdrawn from the race for the incumbent senator to contest for the second term.

Justice Babagana Ashigar in his ruling directed INEC to recognize Rafiu Ibrahim and include his name as a contestant in Saturday’s National Assembly’s election.
