A chief magistrate’s court in Minna, Niger State has convicted two persons to various jail terms for offences bothering on printing and issuing fake appointment letters, forging school certificates and other underhand dealings.

Idris Danjuma Usman was slammed with eight years imprisonment without an option of fine, while Mukaila Afolabi got two years or N50,000 fine. Usman was alleged to have around June 2017 forged letters of appointment of the Niger State Civil Service Commission and also produced fake stamp of the commission.

He was alleged to have also, within the period, cheated one Danlami Bako and six others, by dishonesty inducing them to deliver various sums of money amounting to N1.3 million under the guise of facilitating employment for them in the state civil service.

He was equally alleged to have forged a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate for himself; a Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate of the Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru for one Rukaya Isyaku and also forged a fake Bayero University, Kano degree certificate for himself.

The two accused persons were arraigned by men of the Directorate of State Security Services Niger State Command.
