Court convicts 2 for stealing 500 chickens in Ekiti

A Chief Magistrate court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has sentenced two persons, Moses Uker, 35, and Monday Gambo, 32, to three years imprisonment for stealing 500 chickens worth N9 million.
The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, had at an earlier sitting on December 5, 2025, told the court that the convict at Ado-Ekiti did conspire together to commit felony to wit stealing.
According to the prosecutor, the offense committed is punishable under Section 421, 302 (1)(a) of the criminal law of Ekiti State 2021.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, in his ruling said he found both defendants guilty of stealing 500 chickens worth N9,000,000:00, property of Falade Solomon.
On count 2, they were sentenced to 1 year jail term and on count 2, they were sentenced to three years imprisonment.
The court said both counts are to run concurrently.
