An FCT High Court sitting in Jabi has discharged and acquitted two men charged with robbery for lack of concrete evidence.

The defendants, Nasiru Hussein and Adamu Ali, were arraigned before the court on Jan. 14, 2016 by the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation on three-count charges bordering on robbery.

They were said to have allegedly robbed Promise Ocheme and Vincent Ejameh of Pipeline road, Kubwa, FCT of their belongings on June 6, 2015.

Hussein was said to have masterminded the robbery, while Ali was accused of receiving and retaining stolen property from the first defendant.

The items they were accused of stealing included phones, generator set, laptops, ATM card and cash of N15,000.

They were charged for joint act, robbery and receiving stolen property contrary to sections 296 and 317 of the Penal Code Law, Laws of Northern Nigeria.

Delivering his judgment, Justice Yusuf Halilu said the evidence placed before the court was not concrete enough to secure the conviction of the accused persons.
