A state High Court sitting in Yola has today dismissed a case filed by the Movement for Restoration and Defence of Democracy (MRDD) candidate, Rev Eric Theman seeking for cancellation of governorship election in Adamawa State.

Theman challenged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), calling for fresh election over exclusion of his party logo on the ballot paper.

Justice Abdulazees Waziri said the plaintiff had failed to provide evidence that his party logo was not included on the ballot paper for the election.

The election held on 9th March was declared inconclusive and therefore 23 March was fixed for supplementary election but a court order granted by Justice Waziri restrained INEC from going ahead with the supplementary election

The supplementary election was finally conducted on Thursday two days after Justice Waziri vacated the order restraining INEC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Ahmadu Fintiri emerged winner after defeating the incumbent governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate,  Muhammadu Jibrilla
