Court ejects man over failure to pay bills

A customary court sitting in Mapo, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Tuesday ordered a tricyclist, Sadiq Kamorudeen to quit a room he rented from his landlord, Ajibola Balaro at Omikunle Compound, Ilupeju, Ibadan.

Eko Trust reports that the petitioner, Ajibola had told the court that Kamorudeen who moved into his house in 2018, arrested him and instructed the police to detain him till the following day, due to an argument that ensued between them.

He further told the court that Kamorudeen and his friends had turned his house into a shrine where they deposited sacrifices at will.

According to him, his tenant had stopped paying for electricity supply and security in the house.

Reacting to the allegations, Kamorudeen said it was true he took the man to the police station because he forcefully disconnected his electricity.

The president of the court, Chief Odunade Ademola ordered the defendant to pay all the outstanding debts and leave the house on or before December 15.
