An Ilorin Area Court on Tuesday dissolved a nine-year-old marriage between Morufat Abdulmumini and her husband, Abdulkareem over lack of love.

The Judge, Abdulkadri Ibrahim, who gave the ruling, accorded the custody of the children to the plaintiff and asked the defendant to pay N50, 000 for the feeding allowance and school fees of the children.

He dissolved the marriage between the couple and issued a certificate of divorce to the plaintiff.

Earlier, the plaintiff, a resident of Isale-Oja area of Ilorin, told the court that their marriage was contracted in 2008 and had produced three children.

“My lord, I want an end to this marriage because I do not love him again and I cannot continue to hurt my feelings over an irresponsible man,” the plaintiff said.

The complainant said her husband does not care for her and the children, and has been avoiding them.

She, therefore, pleaded with the court to dissolve the marriage and grant her the custody of the children.

Morufat also prayed the court to compel Abdulkareem to pay N150, 000 for the children school fees and feeding.

In his response, the husband said he had no objection to the dissolution of the marriage.

He, however, told the court he could only afford N50, 000 as school fees and feeding allowance of the children. (NAN)
