A high court in Kano presided over by Justice Ibrahim Umar has ordered for the enforcement of the seizure of two cars belonging to a former All Progressives Congress Public Relation Officer in Kano State, Engineer Bashir Karaye, for failure to comply with the court’s judgement.
The two cars, Toyota Camry and Toyota Highlander, were picked at the Engineer Karaye’s Daurawa residence in the state metropolis for his failure to refund N1.3 million to one Dr Ya’u Musa Dantata.
The complainant’s lawyer, Barrister Ibrahim Mai Cibi, said the case has been ongoing for seven years, adding that after the judgement in August 2021, the defendant failed to comply with the court’s judgement, as such they were left with no other option than to seek enforcement of the court’s judgement by seizing the cars.
He added that his client bought a dilapidated building from the engineer in 2011 not knowing that the property was under a court case.
He explained that his client was ejected from the building after spending over N1.5 million in renovation.
