A Magistrate Court in Gyadi Gyadi, Kano, has sentenced two men, Yahaya Bala and Sanusi Adamu, to two years and three months in prison for armed robbery, conspiracy, and causing grievous injuries.
The two men, both residents of Gobirawa Quarters in Dala Local Government Area, were arraigned by the prosecuting counsel, Barr. Usman Abdullahi.
He told the court that they had attacked their neighbour, Muhammad Abubakar, and dispossessed him of his mobile phone.
During the trial, the prosecution called three witnesses to testify against the defendants. Upon their arraignment, Bala and Adamu pleaded guilty to all the charges.

Delivering the judgment, the presiding magistrate, Justice Musa Abdullahi, held that the evidence presented by the prosecution was credible and sufficient.
He consequently sentenced the convicts to one year imprisonment for armed robbery and eight months each for conspiracy and causing serious injuries.
The sentences are to run consecutively.
