A Plateau State High Court sitting in Jos has nullified the appointment of Zakka Gunok Samben as Village Head of Garah in Bokkos LGA.

The court ruled that his selection was in violation of the customs and traditions of the Garah people.

Delivering judgment on the matter on Monday brought by Useni Dashwar and Benjamin Mwolshakat, Justice B. S. Ngyou prevented Sambyen and his Vokorpopang family from claiming to be part of the ruling house in Garah.

Justice Ngyou restrained the sacked traditional ruler from parading himself as (Mishkam Gara) Village Head of Garah and ordered that Benjamin Mwolshakat of the Fel ruling house be installed in his stead.

City & Crime reports that the stool had generated a controversy, leading to Mwolshakat filing a suit at the high court against the installation of Samben as the Mishkam Gara, as only the Fel and KHG ruling houses were eligible and qualified to be selected.
