N2.1bn: Court orders Dokpesi to open defence

A civil servant, Saheed Ajani, on Tuesday bagged a-7-day punishment of cutting grass at the premise of the Mapo Customary court, Oja-oba area of Ibadan.

Ajani was allegedly abused the president of the court, Chief Ademola Odunade in a telephone conversation when the bailiff of the court invited him for the case instituted against him by his wife, Kafayat Ajani, for drugging his son.

Kafayat had earlier told the court that her husband had exposed their first child to hard drugs with the intention of taking his life, however, the boy narrowly survived the incident. Also, testified the court registrar, said that Ajani equally rained all sorts of abusive words on him when he also called him on phone.

It will be recalled that in 2017, the same court dissolved the marriage between Kafayat and Ajani on ground of irresponsibility on the part of the husband.

President of the court, Chief Ademola Odunade, therefore ordered Ajani to embark on a 7-day grass cutting to serve as punishment for disrespecting the court.
