The National Industrial Court sitting in Jos has ordered the National Veterinary Research Institute, (NVRI), Vom, to pay over N30 million to dismissed staff  Reuben Awanye Itruma, said to have been removed from service since 2007.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Rabi Gwandu who was giving the judgment on Thursday also ordered the college to reinstate Itruma and pay him all other allowances.

She added that due process were not followed in the course of dismissal, adding that the action violated the Civil Service Rule.

She said, "The civil service rule is very sensitive and has to be followed accordingly and like in the course of dismissing the plaintiff, the civil service rule and due process were not followed. The court has therefore ordered NVRI to pay the plaintiff his 10 years salaries, benefits and other allowances."

She further ordered the defendant to pay plaintiff the sum of N2 million for the damage caused him.
