A Sharia court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, on Wednesday, ordered a teacher, Yusuf Yusuf, to end a romantic relationship with his student, Zainab Muhammad.

The Judge, Malam Murtala Nasir, also ordered the teacher to pay N8,500 to the complainant, Zainab, for medical bill after he assaulted her.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Inspector Ibrahim Shuaibu, told the court that Zainab reported to the police on September 5, that her had teacher assaulted and injured her.

Insp Shuaibu further told the court that following investigation, the police discovered that the teacher was in a romantic relationship with her and that he assaulted her because he saw her with another man. (NAN)a
