A Shari’a Court sitting in Rijiyar Lemo, Dala Local Government Area of Kano State, has ordered the remand of two men over allegations of conspiracy, intimidation, fraud, and theft.
The defendants, Abdullahi Ali and Ibrahim Muhammad, were arraigned before the court on charges filed by a court official, Usman Shuaibu Idris Dala.
According to the prosecution, the accused allegedly conspired to intercept motorists and motorcyclists along the highway. They reportedly posed as security personnel and illegally collected money from their victims.
Both defendants denied the allegations.
The presiding judge, Justice Ali Jibrin Danzaki, ordered that the defendants be remanded in a correctional center pending further proceedings.
The case was adjourned to February 28, for hearing.
