A Shari’a Court sitting at Fagge Yan Allura in Kano has ordered the remand of two suspects over alleged fraud and theft involving goods belonging to their employer.
The accused persons, Sabo Bashir and Mohammed Bello, were arraigned before Shari’a Court No. 1 by the state prosecutor, Barrister Zaharadden Mustapha.
The prosecution told the court that the defendants allegedly conspired to steal abaya (women’s garments) valued at N2.9 million from the Nurul-Yakeen shop.

He said the suspects were identified and traced through CCTV footage.

When the charges were read, Mohammed Bello pleaded guilty, while Sabo Bashir denied the allegations.

Presiding over the matter, Justice Mustapha Hasheem directed the prosecution to present its witnesses at the next sitting to substantiate the case.

The court ordered that the defendants be remanded in a correctional facility and adjourned the matter until June 9 for further hearing.
