A Kano State High Court sitting in Bompai has ordered the remand of two men accused of conspiracy and murder in connection with the death of their friend, Surajo Aminu.
The defendants, Nafiu Garba Yaroro and Abdulmalik Garba, were alleged to have conspired to attack the deceased, stabbing him in the back with a knife. The victim reportedly sustained severe injuries that led to his death.
State Prosecutor, Barrister Lamido Abba Sorondinki, informed the court that the defendants had been re-arraigned and that three prosecution witnesses had already testified.
He added that one of the accused persons, Nafiu Yaroro, allegedly claimed that the deceased had been involved in a romantic relationship with his girlfriend.
The defence counsel, Barrister Dan’Azumi Muhammad Balarabe, represented the accused during the proceedings.
After listening to the submissions from both sides, Presiding Judge, Justice Hadiza Sulaiman, ordered that the defendants be remanded in a correctional facility and adjourned the case to December 11 for continuation.
