A Benin High Court has remanded two persons, Sunday Divine (25) and Chijioke Odoria (27) in Edo state police command over alleged robbery.
The two were arraigned on a two count-charge of conspiracy and robbery.
The prosecutor, Emmanuel Ekibade, had told the court that the defendants committed the offence on March 11 at the back of Evidence of Gospel, Isihor in Benin.
He said the duo, on the said date, conspired and robbed one Kingsley Ehanire of his tricycle, popularly called Keke-Napep, valued yet to be ascertained.
He said the offences contravened Sections 6, (b), 1 (a) and punishable under Section 1 (1) (a) of the Robbery and Firearms Special Provision Act Cap RII Law of the Federal Government of Nigeria, 2004.
The presiding Judge, Justice Williams Aziegbemhin, remanded the defendants in police custody and adjourned the case to April 1, 2025.
