Court remands 3 over alleged burglary, theft in Ekiti

A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the remand of three persons, Owolabi Sunday (34), Taiwo Ayenigba (35) and Adeyanju Daniel (26) over an alleged burglary and stealing.

The prosecutor, ASP Olasunkanmi Bamikole, informed the court that there is probably cause to order the remand of the defendants who are reasonably suspected to have committed the offence of conspiracy, burglary and stealing of YSJ Nigeria Limited properties.

ASP Bamikole said the offence committed is punishable under Section 421, 322 (a) and (c), and 302 (1) of the Criminal Laws of EKiti State 2021, within the Ikole-Ekiti Magisterial District on July 13, 2026.

The prosecutor stated that there is need for further investigation, saying the duplicate case file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.

ASP Bamikole, urged the court to grant his motion exparte number MAD/111 FA/26.

The Magistrate, Mr Bamikole Oluwasanmi, granted the order as prayed.

The case was adjourned until August 24, 2026 for mention.
