A Kano State Shari’a Court No. 2, sitting in Kofar Kudu, Kano Municipal, has ordered the remand of three men over allegations of conspiracy, trespass, theft, and receiving stolen property.

The defendants, Sadiq Dahiru, Yakubu Lawan, and Rabiu Saminu, were arraigned before the court by the prosecution counsel, Barrister Amina Umar Yakasai.

According to the prosecution, the suspects allegedly broke into the residence of one Babagida Sani at Garangamawa Quarters, where they stole seven mobile phones. They were later apprehended in possession of five of the stolen phones.

When the charges were read, Sadiq Dahiru pleaded guilty, while Yakubu Lawan and Rabiu Saminu pleaded not guilty.

The defense counsel, Barrister Imrana Abubakar, applied for copies of the charge sheet and requested bail for the defendants.

In his ruling, the presiding judge, Malam Isa Rabi’u Kademi, granted the defence access to the charge sheet but refused the bail application. 

He ordered that the accused be remanded in a correctional facility until November 13, 2025, when the case will continue.
