A Delta State High Court sitting in Asaba has remanded four suspects in a correctional centre over their alleged connection to a Beretta pistol recovered at a motor park in Effurun, Delta State, in a case linked to the killing of Oghenemine Ogidi.
The suspects — Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, Clifford Boleyelefa, Amadi Princewill and Amadi Felix Chibuike — were arraigned on a five-count charge bordering on unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of 9mm ammunition, conspiracy and membership of a proscribed association, among other offences.

The spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, said the offences are punishable under Sections 6(b), 3, 8 and 27(1)(b)(ii) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, as well as Section 516A of the Criminal Code.

He added that the offences also contravene Section 3(1)(b) and are punishable under Section 6(2) of the Prohibition and Proscription of Youth Associations and Organisations Law of Delta State, 2008.

According to Edafe, the court ordered that the suspects be remanded in custody pending further proceedings.

Police said the suspects were arrested in connection with a Beretta pistol recovered at a transport park in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, on April 26, 2026. The weapon was the subject of an earlier investigation following the killing of Oghenemine Ogidi, who was reportedly shot while attempting to collect a waybill containing the firearm.
