A Kano State High Court sitting in the municipality has ordered the remand of five individuals over allegations of conspiracy, attempted kidnapping, and illegal possession of weapons.
The suspects—Murtala Iliya, Usman Sulaiman, Shehu Ille, Ibrahim Hamisu, and one other—were arrested by the police in Bebeji during a patrol. They were subsequently arraigned in court by the State Counsel, Barrister Aminu Ado Bello.
When the charges were read, the accused pleaded not guilty through their legal representatives.
The presiding judge, Justice Fatima Adamu, ordered that the accused be remanded in a correctional facility.
The case was adjourned until February 26, for further hearing.
