Court remands bricklayer for stealing church drum

An Osogbo Magistrate court on Tuesday remanded an 18-year-old teenager, Wasiu Wahab in ilesa prison for allegedly stealing a drum in the church of one Pastor Akintunde in Osogbo, capital of Osun State.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Abiodun Fagboyinbo told the court that the accused person stole Pastor Akintunde drum set at Olarinde Street, Offatedo Area, Osogbo on the 10th of September 2017.

Wahab who claimed that he was learning bricklaying said he wanted to sell the drum to be able to get money to eat since there was nobody to feed him. The accused person didn’t have a lawyer and he pleaded guilty to the offence levelled against him.

Magistrate Olubukola Awokunle ordered that the accused should be remand at the Ilesa prison pending the presentation of the facts of the case by the prosecutor. He adjourned the matter to 19th of September.
