A magistrates’ court in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, has ordered that a 36-year-old farmer, Ezekiel Bishen, be remanded in a correctional centre for defiling a nine-year-old girl.

Bishen was arraigned by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for defilement, contrary to Section 259 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law.

The NSCDC prosecutor, Marcus Audu, told the court that the matter was referred to the corps’ office by the Salama Sexual Assault Referral Centre, Kafanchan, on October 17.

Audu said that the defendant lured the girl into his house at Zonkwa and forced her to suck his manhood after which he had sexual intercourse with her.

He added that the accused threatened to kill the girl if she told anyone what transpired between them.

The Judge, Michael Bawa, who did not take the defendant’s plea for lack of jurisdiction on the matter, directed the prosecutor to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for advice and adjourned to November 22. (NAN)
