Justice A.Y. Shafa on Monday ordered the remand following Okolo’s arraignment on an eight-count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining by false pretence.
The Federal Republic of Nigeria filed the charges under Section 1 (1) (a) and Section 8 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act. 2006 and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the same Act.
The defendant was accused of, between March 2021 and 2022, presenting himself to different individuals, as a member of the House of Representatives through Jimex Petroleum Resources Ltd and Dickson Blue Ltd with capacity and contacts in federal agencies to secure employment to job seekers.

He was alleged to have obtained the sum of N3.5 million from one Ekene Jennifer Obi for jobs at a federal commission, and N400,000 from one Kanu Chukwudi Ndubuisi to secure a job in the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) job for one Esther Kanu.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
