An Iyaganku magistrates’ court in Ibadan, on Tuesday, ordered that a 30-year-old man, Mohammadu Babangida, be remanded at the Abolongo correctional facility for kidnapping a girl.

The magistrate, Emmanuel Idowu, who did not take the plea of the accused, directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice and adjourned the case to June 14.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Iyabo Oladoyin, told the court that the accused conspired with one other person (at large) to commit the offence.

Oladoyin told the court that on March 23, at about 6pm at Sekere village in Oyo State, Babangida kidnapped the girl from her parent’s house and demanded N10m from the victim’s father, Mohammadu Saminu. (NAN)
