A magistrates’ court in Kano has ordered the remand of a 33-year-old man after he was docked for attempted murder and theft.
The court, presided over by Justice Mustapha Datti, was told that the accused person, Alhassan Adam of Na’ibawa quarters, together with one Alhaji Isah conspired to kill one Abdulfatah Yusuf.
State counsel, Asmau Ado Sabi’u, told the court that according to the FIR, the accused criminally conspired between themselves and spike poisonous substance into a drink and gave it to Abdulfatah Yusuf of Yar Tofa Village, Warawa LGA. After he drank it he became unconscious and thereafter stole his tricycle valued at N850,000.
During investigation, Adam who was arrested reportedly confessed to the crime and the drink was found in his possession.
The case has been adjourned to May 24 for review of facts
