An Ogudu magistrates’ court on Thursday ordered that one 29-year-old Ugochukwu Okafor who defiled his 12-year-old stepdaughter be remanded in the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
The Magistrate, Mrs M.O. Tanimola, who did not take Okafor’s plea, directed the police to send the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and adjourned the case to May 12.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Donjour Perezi, told the court that Okafor committed the offence sometime in 2021 in his residence at Oworonshoki.
He said Okafor sexually abused his stepdaughter twice, and that her mother was aware because she caught her husband in the act once, but refused to take legal action. (NAN
