An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court ordered the remand of one Sunday Okonkwo at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre on Tuesday for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl.
Police prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, had told the court that Okonkwo allegedly committed the offence sometime in 2022 at Abaranje, Ikotun, Lagos.

He said Okonkwo had carnal knowledge of the minor without her consent; an offence which he said contravened the Criminal Laws of Lagos State (2015).
Presiding Chief Magistrate Ejiro Kubeinje did not take Okonkwo’s plea before he ordered that the case file should be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for advice.
He adjourned the case till Feb. 6.
The offence is punishable by life imprisonment according to Lagos State laws. (NAN)
