A magistrates’ court in Kano State on Monday ordered that a 30-year-old man, Abdullahi Idris, who sodomised a 13-year-old boy, be remanded in a correctional centre.

Idris, who lives in Sheka Baranda Quarters, Kano, was charged with abduction and unnatural offence.

The Magistrate, Mustapha Sa’ad-Datti, directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice and adjourned to August 2.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Ms Asma’u Ado, told the court that Idris committed the offence on February 11, 2022, at Sheka Baranda Quarters.

Ms Ado said that at about 10pm on the said date, Idris lured a 13-year-old boy into his living room in Sheka Baranda Quarters and sodomised him.

Idris denied committing the offence. (NAN)
