An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Thursday, remanded a 32-year-old man, Fatai Ridwan, in an Ibadan correctional facility over alleged rape of a teenager.
The Magistrate, Mrs T. G. Daodu, did not take the plea of the defendant for want of jurisdiction.
Daodu directed the police to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice.
She thereafter adjourned the case until December 3, for mention.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Folake Ewe, told the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 10 on October 13 at Iseyin, Oyo State.
Ewe said that the defendant had an unlawful carnal knowledge of a 19-year-old girl.
She said that the offence contravened Sections 357 and 358 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000. (NAN)
